We have had some recommendations for this Puky Learner Bike. Instead of teaching your child to use stabilisers, only to have to teach him to ride without them again, this bike is a safe and great way to teach your child to balance on his bike without ever needing stabilisers. An excellent idea!
Unlike the magnetic construction sets you see regularly, which have tiny, pill-shaped pieces, this Magneatos construction set consists of enormous pieces. Absolutely no chance of your baby or younger toddler swallowing these!
I particularly like this Jelly Baby Changing Mat from Babyetc. Not only does it have raised edges (definitely safer than a flat mat), it is PVC-free and has a memory-foam layer to make your baby as comfortable as possible when he is being changed. Not that you should limit using this mat to nappy changes; those of you that follow my bathtime advice from my book might find this mat perfect for your baby to have his little kick on before his bath!
This lovely Emma Bridgewater melamine meal set is a refreshing change from the ubiquitous TV and movie characters! Add a splash of sophistication to your toddler's meal times!
If trucks don't rock your toddler's boat, here is a really pretty Tyrrell Katz melamine dinner set for all the fairy-fans out there!
If you have primary colours coming out of your ears, you might find this supercool jet-black toddle truck a stylish alternative!
A gorgeous Brio shape sorter that will match the toddle truck beautifully.
Another beautiful toy from Brio. We think this lovely stacking owl might become a vintage toy one day!

Contentedbaby.com top recommended shopping sites

We've had some great recommendations recently for shopping online. These are some of the online companies we like.

  • GLTC is great for creative toys and art stuff. But many of our members are huge fans of the personalised items available. Put a personal stamp on a gift for your child!
  • Molton Brown is one of my favourite gift brands. I have recently ordered quite a few articles from their collection to give to my friends. I particularly love their beautiful scented candles. John Lewis stocks a good range of Molton Brown as well as many other gifts.
  • Hamleys has always been the first word in toys. Their selection ranges from traditional to high-tech and you are bound to be something for all ages.
  • The first place most people go to when they think of books is Amazon. I use them all the time, not just for books, but for music, electronics and they even have baby equipment now!
  • For all your nursery needs, Kiddicare is a one-stop shop. Many of our members buy their nursery kit from here and they offer discounts when you buy more than one item (twins or triplets anyone?)
  • The White Company is one of our favourites. From tasteful bedding and towels to fragrances to baby and children's clothing, you can't really go wrong here.
