Newsletter - May 2008
Welcome to our new-look Newsletter,
which has lots to offer you this month. We know that our
members are always looking for new tea-time or snack ideas,
so we have a tasty new
recipe, taken from my forthcoming book, Feeding
Made Easy,
which
is out next month, and can be pre-ordered in advance from
Amazon.
We also have some super tips
and questions
answered, in which we look at ways to help a baby
to settle and how to lengthen the time of the lunchtime
nap, as well as that common problem of encouraging your
baby to like your home-cooking! I'm always intrigued to
see what our members have been discussing - and this month
has been as varied as ever. I was particularly interested
in the discussion on maternal instinct, which has brought
out some strongly-held opinions. And our Australian members
have been very helpful, providing top tips for those people
thinking of moving to Australia, and also helping out
with suggestions for weaning alternatives in Australia.
Closer to home, there has been some great advice and suggestions
for dealing with nappy rash. It's also wonderful to see
our members successfully dealing with issues which have
been causing them concern. So I am delighted this month
to see members having success getting a toddler to self-feed
and to sort out the feeding problems of a six month old.
And of course it's always rewarding to hear about potty-training
success! Click here
for our current hot
topics.
Several of our members have also had huge success dealing with early morning waking, following consultation with Linda Russell - fondly known as the 'Sleep Lady' - from the Parent Coaching Studio (www.parentcoachingstudio.co.uk). Linda's tried and tested method involves using a 'magic light' with toddlers, and we are very fortunate that this month Linda shares her magic with us all in her feature The Magic of a Magic Light.
We have such a great response to our News Round-up that we have decided to make it a permanent feature on the Community page of the ContentedBaby website. This way we can keep you up-to-date on all the topics which we think will be of interest to our members.
Following a question on www.ContentedBaby.com last month
concerning a three-year-old who hates having his hair
washed, we were pleased to see a new product designed
specifically to help with this problem.
The Great Little Trading Company's
Shampoo
Rinse Jug moulds itself to the child's forehead - no more
soapy water in the eyes! Take a look at our members' other
shopping
and reading
recommendations for May. And if you are looking for ways
to save some money, we have some really great suggestions
for you from moneysavingexpert.com.
Have a great month, and enjoy the first of the summer sunshine.
With Love
Gina
